Ricardo Abad

Ricardo Abad Martínez is a Taffa ultrafondista specialist in ultra-deep challenges.

It began to run at the end of June 2005, almost by chance. "My body needed a change, at that time I rode a bicycle and it became obsessed, so coinciding with the birth of my only daughter Ainhoa I changed the bike for the shoes with the intention of preparing my first marathon, San Sebastián 2005, that experience and especially the good atmosphere of the previous races filled me in such a way that I changed my plans, I started cycling in 2006 and in mid-January I decided to leave it parked and put on my shoes ".

The first year he made five asphalt marathons and two mountain marathons, and the following year he took another step, making his first crossings: Barbenas, Monegros, Navarra, at the same time combining them with marathons and many other races.

In 2008 he began his first big projects such as the Crossing of the Peninsula and the 30 marathons in 30 days in the month of August.

This is followed by the various challenges such as 150 marathons in 150 days and the return to the Peninsula.

In 2009 he is nominated by the City Council of Tafalla to the Prince of Asturias Sports Awards.

For him to run is something more than a sport, it is a philosophy of life. It seeks to escape from conventional careers and create my own challenges and challenges.

For this I have a fantastic support team that makes it possible to make these long journeys and all projects.
